About Ruben Wills

Born and raised in Southeast Queens, Ruben's journey is a testament to resilience and dedication. Growing up in the South Jamaica Houses, he attended Public School 40 and Thomas Edison High School, grounding his understanding of the community's fabric. Before entering public service, Ruben operated a contracting company, renovating commercial and residential properties, which provided him with insights into the local economy and housing needs.

His public service career began as a special assistant to City Council Member Leroy Comrie, followed by serving as chief of staff to State Senator Shirley Huntley. In 2010, Ruben was elected to represent District 28 in the New York City Council, where he tirelessly advocated for his constituents until 2017. Despite facing challenges during his tenure, Ruben's commitment to justice prevailed. In 2021, he was fully exonerated, reinforcing his dedication to transparency and integrity in public service.
